Fiona Harvey, a.k.a Real Life Martha of Baby Reindeer Has Filed a Lawsuit Against Netflix For Misleading Facts
Netflix Baby Reindeer has been gaining popularity since it premiered on April 11, 2024. Everything was going smoothly until one day a lady started claiming herself as the ‘real life Martha Scott’ of the miniseries.
According to the official reports, a lady named Fiona Harvey has filed a case against the streaming giant Netflix worth $170 million. The case has mentioned that the writer, and lead actor Richard Gadd and the streaming platform have misrepresented the facts and it affects the lady to an emotional level.
Interestingly, Harvey claims herself as an inspiration behind the successful television series. She also attended Piers Morgan’s Uncensored interview where she talked about her plans regarding the legal battle against the writer Richard and Netflix.
Fiona Harvey further added that her portrayal as a stalker is completely baseless and it was the actor and comedian, Richard Gadd who used to stalk her. Not only that, but she has also denied the scene where Martha sends 41,000 emails to the Gadd.
While talking about the facts, Harvey has added “I don’t think I sent him anything,” Additionally, the reports have also mentioned that the streaming platform Netflix, which runs a multi-national billion-dollar entertainment business didn’t fact-check enough and did nothing to confirm the ‘true story.’

A few weeks ago, a Netflix spokesperson told the Guardian that they are defending this matter vigorously and stand by the actor and comedian Richard Gadd to tell his side of the story.
Later, in an interview, Richard said that slight tweaks to the stories create dramatic climaxes. The actor further added that he was stalked and abused several times.
In addition, Gadd unveiled that Jessica Gunning, who served as Martha Scott in the television miniseries was also unaware of the complete story and her role as a stalker.
On the opposite, Fiona Harvey has added that the streaming platform and Gadd have damaged her reputation, her professional career, and her life. Moreover, she is also demanding $50 million for the actual damage as a part of compensatory damages for the loss of life, enjoyment, and business.
